Dr Saskia Sanderson

Group Lead

Saskia Sanderson is a chartered psychologist, behavioural scientist and data scientist working at the intersection of data science, behavioural science, mental health and genomics.

She has 25 years of experience conducting research in psychology applied to genomics, using qualitative and quantitative methods to understand how people process, understand and respond to genomic information and how genomic advances can be implemented responsibly and effectively in healthcare.

Her current work increasingly brings together data science, patient narratives, responsible AI, and involvement and engagement with patients, the public, communities and people with relevant lived experience, particularly in mental health and precision medicine.

Saskia is a Senior Research Fellowin theDepartment of Biostatistics & Health Informatics at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London.

She is also a member of the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC): Maudsley, and an Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Behavioural Science & Health at University College London (UCL).

She serves nationally as Data Science Lead for the NIHR Mental Health Translational Research Collaboration Mission.
